E-Bike
Borrow an e-bike from Sustainable Kirriemuir.
In Scotland, more than 40% of journeys are less than 2 miles, but most of us would admit to taking the car for short journeys when for some of these we probably could have walked or cycled. As transport is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Scotland as well as a major contributor to poor air quality, there are incredible environmental gains, as well as health benefits, from switching shorter car journeys to more active means such as walking and cycling. And it’s cheaper too! But, Sustainable Kirrie staff and volunteers have certainly noticed that Kirrie is a tad on the hilly side, so we thought having some community e-bikes may help us shift how we travel in and around Kirrie.
Thanks to funding from Energy Saving Trust and The National Lottery, Sustainable Kirriemuir has a mini fleet of e-bikes. The bikes are for members of the local community (Kirriemuir and local glens) who are considering buying their own e-bike to try out.
In the fleet, there are 3 e-bikes and 1 cargo e-bike available to borrow.
These are:
The bikes come with a lock, helmet, lights, pannier and a hi-vis vest.
