Learn how to make your harvest go further at our introductory workshop in pressure canning.

Led by Rose Benoy, local smallholder and owner of Rosehip Eco Living, we’ll be talking through canning fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, learning how to make our seasonal food go further and last longer in our Introduction to Pressure Canning workshop.

Topics covered during this 2-hour workshop will include:

  • equipment needed,
  • working under pressure,
  • food safety,
  • how to safely pressure can low acid produce,
  • good practice for successful canning.

This is a great opportunity to see canning in action; with Rose’s experience you’ll leave feeling confident to start your own canning journey, and you’ll have some freshly preserved food to take away with you at the end!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. No experience needed.

Tea and coffee will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own drink and snack if you like.

Please Note:

This workshop can be attended as a stand alone workshop, however, we are holding a follow on workshop, Creative Canning, on Thursday 1st May which can be booked separately.

Important Information

Children under 18 must attend with a responsible adult.
