Why We Hold Kirriemuir Tattie Day
Team SK are passionate about all aspects of local food, whether locally grown, processed locally, or sold through local shops and markets. We want to build a more accessible and resilient food system where communities can come together to grow and eat more local food and celebrate the seasons. Therefore, we hope Kirriemuir Tattie Day will inspire and enable local people to grow their own produce, and access local produce more easily.
What to Expect
Potato House
The star of the show at Kirriemuir Tattie Day is always the dozens of varieties of seed potato pick ‘n’ mix available to buy directly from Andrew and Amy Skea of Potato House themselves. They’ll be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions you have, and to advise on the perfect tatties for your taste and growing space.
Farmer’s Market
We’ll update as more producers are confirmed! So far, we’ll be welcoming stalls from…
Incheoch Farm
Isabella’s Preserves
Jist Jute
The Black Cat Soap House
Sour Power Vinegars
Rottal Vegetable Garden
Winnie’s Cabin Crafts
Café
We’ll be running a pop-up café with a simple menu of soup, stovies and cakes. Our café income helps us cover the costs of running the event. Tickets can be bought in advance or on the day.
🥔 Lunch Ticket (stovies or soup, drink and cake): £5.00
☕️ Drink and cake only: £3.00
Seed Swap
Our Seed Library is expanding in 2025 and to kick-start this we’re encouraging all seed-saving enthusiasts to come along and chat to our team about how you can help us with our library! Please feel free to bring any unused seed, whether saved or not, to donate to our Seed Swap, and pick up some seed to try this year!
Arts & Crafts
Michelle from Angus Outdoor Learning will be back with her amazing collection of natural materials, inspiring us to get creative with nature’s amazing resources.
Action for Nature
Come along and chat with our friendly volunteers about how we can help you take action for nature at home or in the local community in 2025.
Meet the Team
Staff and volunteers from our Active Travel Hub, Community Garden and our Farm Project at Kinnordy will all be on hand to chat about what’s coming up in 2025, and to answer your questions about what we do and how you can get involved.
