An opportunity to hear from those with experience in creating their own natural fertilisers and share knowledge.

Come along to our natural fertilisers workshop on Wednesday 31st July for an informal skill-sharing session on making your own natural fertilisers.

Led by Zoe, Food & Growing Project Officer, and Sally, Community Garden Volunteer, this session will cover the basics of harvesting and preparing natural materials to make your own fertiliser. You will hear about the different plants you can use, and the benefits they bring. We will also touch on natural pest control remedies. If you would like to take away any samples of different concoctions please bring a small container, e.g. milk carton, or ideally, a spray bottle.

We will have a relaxed and informal approach with plenty of opportunity for discussion blended with practical activity.

Please dress for the weather conditions on the day, and wear sturdy footwear as some of the ground in the Community Garden is uneven.

We’ll have the kelly kettle on for tea and coffee, but feel free to bring along your own drink and snack if you like.

Children under 18 must attend with a responsible adult.

Food & Growing

As part of our wider 3-5 year strategy, Sustainable Kirriemuir are taking action around Food & Growing, to help achieve our vision of a sustainable, net-zero community where people and nature flourish. This event will contribute towards our aim to provide opportunities for learning, skill-sharing and experiencing the benefits of growing food and gardening.
