Come along to our Action for Nature Meet-up, find out about what we do, and help us make a difference in Kirriemuir.

Do you want to help recover our natural world? Let’s start in our tiny corner of the planet, Kirriemuir!

Would you like to share your knowledge of how we can enhance biodiversity in and around our town? Maybe, like us, you want to get stuck in to taking action to protect and restore our natural world.

We can work together to tackle the main drivers of biodiversity loss, build ecosystem resilience at a local level and increase the diversity of the species and habitats we find here. The healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier our communities are.

Come along to our meeting and find out more! We would love to hear your ideas and tell you more about ours. We are a friendly and supportive group and welcome new members. Any questions beforehand please contact us on info@sustainablekirriemuir.co.uk.

What are Sustainable Kirriemuir’s Action for Nature Aims?

Nature is life, and its diversity is essential to our future. Each part of nature has a role, however large, small or seemingly insignificant. We will support our community to understand and appreciate the role and benefits of nature, both globally and locally, so that we can best protect, support and restore our nature. We aim to do this by:

  • Promoting, protecting and restoring our local natural biodiversity.
  • Studying, recording and tracking our local nature, and sharing this with our local community to inspire our work.
  • Promoting the health and wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature.
  • Studying our local extreme weather events, the effect on our nature, our vulnerabilities, and helping to support our community’s resilience with a better understanding of appropriate adaptations.

What can you do to help us achieve this?
